Big apologies for not updating for a while
I had to deal with things around Meigetsu and community development activities such as renewing English Sanya vicinity map
Today, I'm going to introduce you a Japanese "Halloween" event called "Setsubun Obake*"on Feb 4 It will be held in Yoshiwara, which is close to Sanya area
WAIT. Is there Halloween in Japan Don't think so. According to the article on Tokyo Newspaper, it is a tradition prevalent usually in Karyukai (Geisha districts); Yoshiwara shop owners association decided to revive the event to support the earthquake restoration by having Tohoku products exhibition space

If you are interested in this event, just get up and join!
Also, there is a costume contest anybody can attend; you can apply via their page... Hmmm. There's only a Japanese page
*Setsubun Obake: "Setsubun" is a seasonal change of this time of the year and Feb 3 or Feb 4 is the day. And "Obaka" means ghost
Usually, Japanese celebrate the day by throwing beans to "Oni (Demons)", so that bad luck would be gone and welcome good luck instead.
In this "Setsubu Obake" event, you can enjoy costume masquerade as well as bean throwing!
